Mothers: fun-loving, scene-stealing, footie-mad boys, Ezra (7) and Jed (4), two beautiful rebels without a pause…

Shakes: Uju shapes and creates content for diverse print and digital media. She is a TV screenwriter for hit Nigerian soap Tinsel, broadcast across 45 countries. Her writing and editing credits include Time Out (Visitor’s Guides), B3 Media, salon.com, the Guardian, AOL City Guides, Angels & Urchins, Lazy Daisy and more. She’s also dabbled in poetry (IC3, Penguin), film publicity (Bullet Boy) and TV production (The Apprentice Africa). An alumnus mentor with girlswritenow.org, Uju is passionate about helping creative individuals and organisations find their wow factor. Uju was featured mum blogger in BritMums and O2’s viral video for Mother’s Day 2012 (700,000+ views on YouTube) and has made multiple appearances on BBC London radio.

Penny Alexander



Mothers: a curly haired, freckly nosed, all-singing, all-dancing 6-year old girl and a fearless 4-year-old boy dubbed the mountain goat.

Shakes: Penny creates award-winning blog and video content. She works with a range of brands on her own blog from Panasonic and Kodak to the YHA and Nottingham Playhouse. She edits the Britmums video round up, writes for Quib.ly and contributes to the Tots 100 brand panel. In February she travelled to Ghana to blog for Comic Relief and will be helping the charity plan another blogging outreach and social media campaign for Sport Relief 2014.

Blogs: and vlogs at the award-winning Alexander Residence, about parenting, creativity, and sometimes even parenting creatively. She is a 2013 finalist in the MADs Blog Awards Outstanding award and the Britmum’s Brilliance in Blogging Awards in Video and Commentary. Penny writes a weekly column for the Nottingham Post.

Did you know? Penny’s theatre company made a tidy profit on the Edinburgh fringe with Rasputin The Musical.


Mothers: Mamá to a very strong willed and bilingual 4- year-old boy who loves dinosaurs and scooting and an independent chica just 4 months old.

Shakes: Working in the communications industry since 2002, Maria received her Master’s Degree in Public Relations and Public Communication (Distinction) from the University of Westminster in London in 2006, and worked in the UK as a PR & Social Media Manager at an integrated agency until 2011. During that time she implemented and managed several national campaigns for clients such as The Kennel Club (Crufts), The New Ice Age, Cemetery of the Year Awards, CamelBak, and other niche clients. Now based in the Washington, DC area in the US , Maria has started her own PR and Social Media shop.

Blogs: An award-winning mummy blogger (an occasional vlogger) in the UK, Maria won acclaim (Gurgle Awards, BritMums, MAD Blog Awards) for her family fun blog Mummy’s Busy World and in January 2012 launched Very Busy Mamá {Life, Beauty & Style},which made the Top 25 Fashion & Style Blogs for Circle of Moms 2012. She is a contributing editor to Disney Baby, Spanglish Baby, All Things Chic, BritMums, Love All Blogs, The DC Ladies and continues to work with brands both as a PR and blogger. In 2012, Maria was one of the Top Latina Bloggers to visit the White House.

Mirka Moore



Mothers: a very chatty, bilingual, curly haired almost 6-year-old Isabelle, and a gorgeous, 14-month-old Olivia.

Shakes: the worlds of education, web design and social media. Mirka used to be an English teacher at a Grammar school and also taught English to foreigners (ESL) in Sydney and London. Since becoming a full-time mum, blogging and social media have rapidly become her biggest passions, and she has recently been rated as one of the top 20 UK Mummy Blogs on Twitter by Cision. Mirka was a finalist in the 2012 MADS parenting blog awards for Best Baby Blog.

Blogs: at one of the most popular UK parenting blogs, All Baby Advice, about bringing up her daughters bilingually, and living in London without her family, who live in the Czech Republic.

Did you know? Mirka is a marathon-running ski instructor and swam 60 lengths even when 39 weeks pregnant.


Mothers: two lovely girls – a ridiculously independent 5-year-old, and a fiery 3-year-old who loves to make people laugh.

Shakes: the world of features journalism, regularly writing for the UK’s top consumer magazines, including The Guardian’s Weekend magazine. More recently she’s been helping high-profile social media clients connect effectively with bloggers, grow their follower numbers, and increase influence across platforms such as Twitter and Facebook. She’s also an award-nominated parenting blogger, currently ranked Number 2 in the Cision Top 10 UK Parenting Index.

Mothers: a doe-eyed, strong-willed, bilingual 3-year-old boy who loves to Greek dance, and an 8-month-old baby on the way who already likes to talk!

Shakes: it up in the TV and film industry. A multi award-winning screenwriter and director, Vicki makes compelling drama, documentary, music videos, virals and promos with a keen interest in social and comedy genres. Vicki edited The Film & Festivals Magazine for two years and is a former film critic for BBC Radio Leeds.

Blogs: at the award nominated Honest Mum: the funny and honest musings of juggling life as a filmmaker, with first time motherhood.

Did you know? Vicki came fourth in the North at Junior Masterchef, aged 11.


Mother: to a 4-year-old girl with a big sense of humour and a fiercely independent streak.

Shakes: it up in the world of kids’ style and design. Nomita is an ex-advertising gal with a keen understanding of branding and brand building. She worked with leading international ad agencies like J. Walter Thompson and with big brands like Unilever, Kelloggs and RAC, until she traded it all in favour of dirty nappies and sleepless nights. Nomita wrote a regular column for an online kids’ fashion magazine, she now changes the baby world from cutesy to cool through her blog.

Blogs: about style for kids at the award winning Ebabee likes,which was selected as a Top 50 design blog by parenting uber-site Babble.com.

Did you know? Well-travelled Nomita grew up in Prague, Hong-Kong, Mumbai, London and New York.

Laura Evans Vogel



Mother: to a perfectly balanced yin yang: one half a spoonful-of -honey and sunshine 7-year-old girl; the other a wonderfully boisterous bubble of 4-year-old boy.

Shakes: London family-friendly museums, playgrounds, workshops and events, then spreads the good news about all that London has to offer children. Laura rocks the world of hyper-local-niche-media, helping businesses engage with London families. Former listings editor and regular columnist for Mumsense Magazine, she is also a regular contributor to Really Kid Friendly, Kingsroad.co.uk, Huffington Post and Brit Mums. Laura brings a background in online marketing and a Masters in Education to her work.

Blogs at London Baby, which focuses on free and affordable, cultural and interesting activities and events for babies, toddlers, children and families.
